LYRICS
'Dormouse'
The dormouse is stirring
The door is open
Won't you tell your mind not to pretend?
The ocean is crowned
The waves have all drowned
Can you see the beginning after the end?
Can you feel the beginningless forever begin?
All is one
The one is none
We weave our worlds on desire's loom
Birth bears death
Die to the world
We're all just waiting for the lotus to bloom
Erecting walls in a boundless room
All the same
Mind's little game
Battling butterflies must reach the flame
Nothing to find
Leave all behind
If we surrender we'll be named insane
A great pretender is conducting this train
Night is here
Mind's luring spear
Tell me child what you fear, if you please
Touch this Earth
Imagined birth
The leaves are dancing on the branches of trees
We are as infants in the hands of our dreams
'The Void'
Look through birth's eyes
And see the people all around
Winter kisses spring
Come watch them
Come and see what we have found
We are of the sun
But a thousand moons are out
Sleeping to get nothing's high
Everything has got us down
In your eyes I see
The void haunts me
Dreams aren't ever free
Formed in being one thing
Lovers, death knows you aren't free
Look through death's blinds
And catch a glimpse of the end of your mind
Summer falls to end
Everything that we pretend
We have fun in time
Alone as a rhyme
Dreaming to be re-defined
Is nothingness a boring bride?
POETRY
'The Glimpse'
We waited through a vast field of tall thoughts
Whose abyss our heart held at arms length
Here shadows slept on frozen paintings
Clutching the dim, for the light was dainty
Sharp stars pierced a wild, empty midnight shroud
This fluttered over monolithic walls
And two pungent bloodstained doors
One in, one out of
Life and death's winding halls
We were drawn by a familiar sound
The nearer we came, the closer curious ego held us
And birthed fear
Which clung, humid, to the air
Alien structures crept gently up
To beckon our continual arrival
This was the place where the veils hung
Draped lifeless as scarecrows, their game was finished
Behind them sat a motor roaring and droning
Deep, yet feathery were its gestures
It labored hauntingly, and hissed flickeringly
Overseen by a quivering light
In timeless vanishings, the light would leave
And the motor sleep
Only to awaken again
This beginningless dance would never end
Inside the heart of this wilderness
There was something to remember
Our attention scuttled shamelessly
Around each corner lay manifest
The most mesmerizing
How long could these waves curl around us?
What we truly came for lay behind the high walls
Beyond the lion-guarded gates
Inside and beyond
Beyond beyond
Be gone
No one inside but we
Who never left
And have yet to arrive
This is where we belong
Where an infinite sea meets an infinite sky
At the center of our wanderings
But we are not yet ready to return home
